Great, realistic fake candle! Dec 24, 2010
By Robert Haven Just got one of these 4" (plus two 6") high flameless candles and I'm surprised and pleased. I never heard of these before my wife recently told me they existed, and I was skeptical. But they are made of real wax, so they certainly look like real candles, and the soft orange, glowing, and slightly flickering light looks very realistic. When I first removed the candles from their plastic packaging, there was a strong vanilla-like scent, but after a day, I can't detect any odor except up very close (which is good, as I do not care for scented things). One of the candles had a crack line within the wax, but I just put that side toward the back where it isn't visible. They do seem rather fragile so be careful opening the plastic wrapping and don't be surprised if you see slight flaws in the wax, I'd say. They look great in our new gel fuel fireplace for which I haven't bought any gel fuel and now I feel little need to do so. I saw these candles (or some just like them, anyway) in a fancy home design catalog listed at over five times the price I paid for these at Amazon.
